There are weddings that are beautiful. And then some weddings feel like they were designed from the inside out, where every detail, every moment, every decision reflects exactly who the couple is. Ian and Heaven’s 30A wedding was the latter, and I’m still dreaming about it!
Heaven and Ian didn’t want a big production. They wanted something real, something intimate, something that actually felt like them. And from the very first conversation, it was clear that this Florida wedding was going to be exactly that: a carefully crafted celebration of two people who love each other deeply and wanted the people closest to them right there for it.
This is what I love most about small, intentional weddings. Nothing is there by accident, and everything means something.
The morning started at their Airbnb in the Watercolor area, one of the most charming neighborhoods along 30A. It was a perfect backdrop for their coastal wedding day with its light and airy colors, palm branches, and natural textures.
Heaven’s attention to detail carried through from the very beginning. The little touches she chose for the day- her girls’ getting ready pajamas, the reception’s wicker chargers, handcrafted oyster shell place markers for each guest – were thoughtful and personal in the best way. You could feel her heart in every single element.
Before heading to Eden Gardens State Park, we made our way to Cerulean Park in Watercolor for their first look. If you’ve never been to Cerulean Park, it’s exactly the kind of spot you’d dream up for a moment like this: lush, green, quietly beautiful.
Ian and Heaven’s first look was so sweet. These two are the kind of couple whose love just pours out of them naturally. Heaven is beautifully expressive and wears her heart on her sleeve, and Ian meets her there completely. Watching them see each other for the first time that day was one of those moments I’ll carry with me for a long time.
Eden Gardens State Park is one of those Florida wedding venues that genuinely takes your breath away. Nestled in Santa Rosa Beach, this historic property is draped in Spanish moss, surrounded by ancient oak trees, and carries a quiet, timeless elegance that is unlike anything else along 30A.
For an intimate, low country coastal wedding like Ian and Heaven’s, it was absolutely perfect. The ceremony and reception both took place on the grounds, and the natural beauty of the park did most of the heavy lifting. There’s a romance to Eden Gardens State Park that you simply can’t manufacture. It’s just there, woven into every corner of the property.
Ian and Heaven are so genuinely kind, empathetic, and warm people. Their love for each other is tender and deep, and their ceremony reflected that beautifully. It wasn’t showy or performative – it was honest and intimate and full of real emotion.
The patio setup for the reception was so perfectly coastal and low country. The wicker chargers gave the tablescape a warm, coastal texture that felt perfectly at home in a Santa Rosa Beach setting. But the oyster shell place markers? Those were the detail that stopped everyone in their tracks. Each guest’s name hand-lettered on an oyster shell – a nod to the coastal Florida setting and a keepsake guests could take home. It was such a sweet detail that fit the vibe perfectly.
The reception flowed naturally from the ceremony, with the gorgeous grounds of Eden Gardens State Park as the backdrop. One of the most emotional moments of the entire day came during the reception when Heaven shared her first dance with her mom.
If you’re planning a 30A wedding or a Santa Rosa Beach wedding and haven’t considered Eden Gardens State Park, put it at the top of your list. Here’s why it photographs so beautifully:
The light: Filtered through centuries-old oak trees, the light at Eden Gardens is soft and dreamy at every hour of the day.
The architecture: The historic white mansion on the property adds a classic, elegant element that works beautifully as a backdrop.
The grounds: Lush, green, and impeccably maintained – there’s a backdrop around every corner.
The intimacy: Unlike larger Florida wedding venues, Eden Gardens lends itself beautifully to smaller, more intimate celebrations where every guest feels close to the action.
Ian and Heaven’s day is a beautiful reminder that a wedding doesn’t have to be large to be extraordinary. What makes a wedding memorable isn’t the guest count or the budget, it’s the intentionality.
If you’re dreaming of an intimate Florida wedding along 30A, whether at Eden Gardens State Park or another gem tucked along the Santa Rosa Beach coastline, I would absolutely love to be part of documenting your day!
This stretch of the Florida panhandle is some of the most beautiful wedding territory in the entire Southeast, and there is nothing I love more than a couple who leans into the natural beauty of a place and builds something meaningful around it.
Congratulations to Ian and Heaven Dutton – your wedding day was a gift to photograph and I am so grateful I got to be there!
